El Cyber Charro is inspired by (1) Mexican Charros (Mexican horse riders in traditional dress); (2) the Mexican Revolution; and (3) sci-fi fantasy.
The artist’s father was a Mexican charro with Antonio Aguilar’s rodeo in the late 1960s.A Mexican freedom fighter steps through a space-time portal wielding a handgun in anticipation of the future. He wears both traditional Mexican attire, like the blue neck tie and sombrero, as well as elements of a suit inspired by the television series Star Trek. As he steps through the portal, he is momentarily split. We can see part of his ribs and bandolero and bullets.
